Learn about our sustainability efforts across hardware, software, and supply chains. You’ll meet the people working to minimize our footprint by reducing waste and pollution, incorporating recycled content, and designing products that last.
100% of Google hardware products launching in 2022 and every year after will include recycled materials, with a drive to maximize recycled content wherever possible. But we’re not stopping there: by 2025, at least 50% of plastic used in Google’s consumer hardware portfolio will come from recycled or renewable content.
We’re also minimizing our footprint with shipping and waste. Since October 2019, 100% of all our product shipments to and from Google’s direct customers are carbon neutral. And, by 2022, we’re dedicated to achieving UL 2799 Zero waste to Landfill validation for all final assembly manufacturing sites.
Our goal with design is to solve problems and, as you’ll learn in this video, sustainability is one of the biggest problems our world faces. Join our team of designers and problem solvers including Ivy Ross, VP Design Google Consumer Hardware and Adi Narayanan, Head of Materials Science and Engineering, and explore what we’re doing to make a more sustainable future.
