Introducing Nest Renew from Google: a service for your compatible Nest thermostat that makes it easy to support a clean energy future, right from your home.¹ This new service is currently rolling out in early preview by invitation.
Nest Renew shows you how clean - or not so clean - the energy coming to your home is throughout the day. It works with your Nest thermostat to help you automatically shift your usage to times when your grid is cleaner.²
Nest Renew can help you save energy too. It can help you automatically prioritize usage of less expensive energy, ¹ ³ and it can tune up your thermostat schedule to run efficiently in both summer and winter.
As you use Nest Renew features to support clean energy, you’ll earn Leafs to track your progress. When you earn enough Leafs to achieve a milestone, you can extend your positive impact by choosing to direct Nest Renew funds to nonprofit partners around the country.⁴
Nest Renew Basic will be free for customers with a compatible Nest thermostat,¹ And to extend your impact even further, Nest Renew Premium, which is $10 a month, can match the fossil fuel electricity used in your home with enough clean energy to cover the average U.S. household. This is done with purchases of renewable energy credits from U.S. wind and solar.⁵
